Temperatures in the low 80's, sunshine beaming down, slight breeze to keep things cool. Weather like this just begs you to play outside...so that's what we have been doing.
Eureka Fest provided prime opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors. Between Friday and Saturday, Staley got to visit the petting zoo (although watching the other children was more entertaining than seeing the animals), meet some clowns (one of them looks SO familiar), shop at the craft booths, cheer on the runners at the trail race, and relish the attention showered on her from other Eureka Festians.
More worried about standing in the grass than watching the turtle

We designated Sunday as Family Fun Day. Zach has been working so hard on school work and on the house project, so he took the afternoon off to just enjoy some family time. Staley experienced her first visit to the Peoria Zoo. Her favorites? The zebras, the active monkeys (not so interested in the ones that weren't climbing around), and, of course, all the other kids.
Don't judge the zoo by Staley's serious expression.
Picture time was serious business, but the zoo was great fun!
And today was another perfect day, so Staley and I played out at Eureka Lake. Staley LOVED swinging in a big girl swing for the first time and going down the slides with me. She also enjoyed looking at the lake, visiting with the ducks, and watching other kids play on the playground.
Life with Staley is so much fun. But life with Staley AND perfect weather--well, it doesn't get any better than that.
