Zach was instant messaging with a friend of his at work. Zach asked his friend (married, no kids) about his week-end.
Friend: "It was great. Went out Saturday night with a bunch of guys I play basketball with. Went to downtown Peoria and stayed out way too late. It was a blast, but Sunday morning was ROUGH. How was your week-end?"
Zach: "It was great. Took Staley swimming and out to eat. Played mermaids. Had lots of fun. And felt fine Sunday morning. :)"
Having kids requires making some trades. Trading in the economy car for a mini-van. Trading in late night movies on the couch for 9:30 bedtime. Trading in exotic vacations for children's museums and zoos. Trading in lazy week-end mornings for 7 a.m. wake-up calls. And trading in week-end nights on the town for swimming and playing mermaids. When you have kids, you have to make some trades. And we definitely came out on top!
