Kamikaze Baby

I think our house is uber baby-proofed.  My child is well supervised.  She is well coordinated when it comes to climbing on and off of things.  She even knows to sit down when she's at the top of the stairs, and can turn around to climb down on her stomach independently.  But no matter how safe I think the environment is or how closely I am watching her or how coordinated she is, my kamikaze baby still finds ways to push the envelope of safety on a daily basis.  And it's not just your average, run-of-the-mill falling while walking too quickly outside or slipping off while trying to climb onto the toilet or tackling her older sister, although there is plenty of that too.  That's just the start.  We have to go even further.

Who would think to hang from the handle on the oven door until it flies open, causing her to whack her head on the kitchen floor?

Who decides it's a good idea to run as fast as she can (luckily it's not that fast yet) towards me while I'm bent over tying my shoes so that her head bounces off mine?

Whose taste buds think that sucking on the dispenser end of the pump soap sounds yummy?

Who, because the baby gates are locked at the top of the stairs, climbs through the kitty door on the baby gates to get to where she wants to go?

Who determines that waiting for mom to get the big toys off the higher shelves in the toy room requires too much patience and just prefers to pull them off onto herself?

Who has found that throwing toys and books, especially big ones, is a satisfying activity...and loves to do it with a glint in her eye and a mischievous smile after her mother has already told her 'no'?

Who finds pure enjoyment into running as quickly as she can and launching herself into furniture or people?

This little one.

Yes, she's cute.  But she is WILD!!
