Good-bye, August!

The beginning of the school year makes you think of fall, but that's a farce.  When you start school in the middle of August, summer is still fully present and happy to make itself known.  Our August was spent fitting in those last fun activities before school started and squeezing in the final opportunities for summer fun.

The cousins fit in a last summer cousin sleepover at Uma and Papa's house before school started.

The kids enjoyed a playdate and sleepover with their friends, Stella and Olivia.  Magic shows and dance performances were a part of the fun.

And Briggs loved that he was included in the performances and the sleepover portion of the get-together.

There were back to school haircuts...

kite flying...

birthday parties for friends...

and a few last opportunities to swim at State Farm pool with friends...

and cousins.

We hopefully finished out the last of our racoon relocation program.

I enjoyed a much-needed afternoon of soul-filling girl time with my college friends.

We met up with Zach's friend, Mike, (and Staley the Bear) for a morning at Bear's training camp.

The training camp practice itself was pretty underwhelming and anti-climatic, but we enjoyed our grown-up day off and visiting with Mike.

Our August ended with an evening of fun at the Community Bash in Germantown Hills with Uncle Rob and cousins.  Horse rides, bouncy houses, balloon animals, exotic pets, and fireworks capped off our fun-filled month of August.  Looking forward to what September brings our way!
