Okay, so it is September, but let's throw it back to July and catch up on what happened to the rest of our summer.
We kicked off our 4th of July fun with the Park to Park 5 mile race. The girls and I ran together for most of the race with Staley finishing in 37:53, me finishing in 37:54, and Adelie finishing in 38:14. It was a hot and fun way to start our day.
We enjoyed the parade and lunch at Uma and Papa's house. Since no cousins came this year, we invited the Hostetlers to join us instead.
Staley worked at Uncle Bob's all afternoon and evening, but the rest of us enjoyed a nice day at home and then went to the fireworks.
It felt quiet at the fireworks without Staley or any cousins to join us, but it was still a great show.
There were NTA performances, like the Summer Cabaret and performances at Evergreen Center and Connie Link and Make Music Normal.
And fun times with NTA friends at performances, the pool...
and Culvers. Always Culvers.
Some of the girls' NTA friends are their best friends. Love this tribe!!
Adelie enjoyed several days with her team at Dance Camp in Bloomington.
She had a great time rooming with Everly, learning dances with her team, and was very proud of getting chosen for a Showmanship ribbon.
Adelie owns the animated facial expressions!
Zach took Briggs on his first long bike ride of 10 miles. Briggs loved it, and has been riding around town on his own ever since.
We tried to fit in lots of time with friends whether it was pickleball, hanging out at each other's houses...
State Farm Park...
State Farm pool...
Mrs. Lind's pool...
pottery painting...
or a rainy day at Arcadia. Summer seems shorter and shorter, so finding time to spend with friends is always a priority.
One of our fun summer outings was a day trip with the Ray girls to Six Flags in St. Louis. We spent the day riding rides and coasters...
and then spending a few hours at the water park.
It was a fun day of girl time!!
Both girls ran with their teams at Detweiller at Dark. Staley and her team all ran together really slowly as one big group.
Adelie ran harder and finished in 14:39 for the 2.1 mile course.
It's always such a fun race. The kids have a great time getting all decked out to race with their friends.
It definitely is a fun way to kick off the cross country season.
I love watching my girls embrace something I love so much!
Middle school cross country open runs ended on July 2 with a fun game day, but both girls continued running with the high school all July during their open runs/distance camp.
We finished off our July with the summer Stage Kids performances of Seussical, Jr.
It was full, fun July. We packed in lots of theater and working and running and swimming and fun times with friends. It went fast, but we definitely won July!
