Although chilly and windy, our Easter Sunday was still a fun and full day filled with family, food, fun, and reminders of the many blessings in our lives.
After reading the Easter story together from the Bible, we started our morning with the kids finding their Easter baskets in the basement. The finding is getting too easy...we'll need to figure out a way to make it harder next year. Each kid got a hiking hydration backpack, a Mom and Me journal, and a fun surprise. Briggs was SO excited about his Dursley's House Harry Potter Lego set.
Staley got a new bike helmet.
And Adelie was excited about her diamond painting craft set.
We enjoyed a yummy brunch at church before the Easter service.
The kids always enjoy their friends from church and getting to spend time with them.
Briggs did a good job singing an Easter song to start the service with the kids from his Children's Church class.
We followed up church with a yummy lunch and Easter egg hunt at Zach's aunt's house. Zach's Aunt Jan and Uncle Jack have been filling and hiding Easter eggs for family and neighbors since Zach was little. This was their last year to do it and the kids really enjoyed it!! Zach's sister's kids were not there this year, so it was just my 3 hunting for the 162 eggs that were hidden in the yard. So many eggs! So much candy!!
As the kids get older, Easter egg hunts are still fun...but they find the eggs much quicker than when they were younger.
We followed up our first Easter family gathering by trekking over to Danvers to enjoy more Easter fun with my side of the family at my aunt's house. Another Easter egg hunt, more treats, and fun with cousins and second cousins rounded out our day.
Briggs enjoyed the egg hunts and family time, but he spent the entire day asking to go back home so that he could start working on his new Lego set. Even yummy food, Easter egg hunts, and time with family can't compete with Lego time.
Even when the weather isn't perfect and the day is busy, every day is a perfect time to celebrate the joy of our risen Savior. And this day was no exception. It was a happy Easter indeed!
