Fetch?

When we were walking home from school one day this week, Briggs saw a big stick by the sidewalk and picked it up.  He asked, "Can I throw this stick?"  Then he quickly added, "I'll just throw it up there on the sidewalk and then run and get it."  I responded, "So you mean you just want to play fetch with yourself?"  Briggs smiled, said "yes", and then proceeded to play fetch with himself all the way down the sidewalk on the way home.

And we still buy them toys.  Why????
