Although Valentine's Day is not what I would consider a banner holiday, the kids enjoy parties at school and sharing valentines with friends. Valentine's Day seems to be a pretty fitting holiday for February. Pretty weak in comparison to other holidays, but better than nothing.
Staley enjoys making her own valentines for school and was excited about this photo valentine idea. A bit more expensive than previous years, but way easier than hand-drawing 25 valentines.
This was also the first year that we had to make the dreaded valentine box. In this Pinterest world of elaborate ideas and time-consuming DIY projects, I was pleased that Staley's idea for her box was easy, quick, and cute.
The other February highlight was the Daddy-Daughter Dance.
The girls were excited about getting dressed up, getting their hair done, and having a special night out with Daddy.
They had a ball!! They went out to dinner and then danced the night away. Well, until 8:30 anyway. Apparently their dance moves garnered considerable attention during the dance contest, although they did not end up winning.
They both thoroughly enjoyed their night with Daddy and their friends.
And Briggs and I enjoyed our own date night while they were away with his activities of choice: dinner at Steak and Shake followed by "movie" night consisting of several episodes of 'Bubble Guppies.' I always love time with my little guy!!
February is not my favorite month. February weather is not my favorite weather. February holidays are not my favorite holidays. And February highlights tend to be few and far between. Nevertheless, my family and time spent with them is my favorite. So I can overlook what February doesn't have going for it because it's another month that I get to enjoy my beautiful family.
