Staley tells us lots of things. Sometimes they seem to come out of left field. Sometimes they are silly. Sometimes they are not true. We can usually find some connection to something Staley has read, seen, done, or heard... but not always. On Saturday, out of nowhere, Staley began sharing this information with Zach. She gave these 4 pieces of information.
1. "The mailman bring mail."
2. "The mailman put mail in mailbox."
3. "The mailman kiss Mommy."
4. "The mailman says 'bye-bye.'"
For the record, the mailman and I have never exchanged more than passing pleasantries about the weather. And upon further questioning, Staley did note that the mailman also kisses Daddy, Uma, and Papa. Regardless, I'm not sure where this came from. And my concern...
What else is Staley out there sharing with the world? What kinds of information is she giving to her baby-sitter or the church nursery workers or the women at the library? Staley talking about Uma running a race or Lila riding a motorcycle or Aunt Melissa flying up in the sky (all of which she has talked about recently) are cute, humorous antidotes that make me smile. But Mommy kissing the mailman? Not so cute and humorous. I'd rather Staley not be sharing that story with anyone...especially the mailman.
